Setting up a Google+ Brand Page

Just recently, Google+ Introduced pages for its users, just like Facebook’s fan page, this new innovation is a leap forward for businesses to create profiles on Google+ social network to build relationships between businesses and people.

To start for your Google+ brand page here’s what you have to do:

Step #1. Getting Started

The first thing that you need to do is to sign in to your Google account and then head to http://www.google.com/+/business/.

Step #2. Pick your own Category

Select which category your business fits into. The categories are as follows:

i. Local Business or Place

Suitable for: hotels, restaurants, places, stores, services

ii. Product or Brand

Suitable for: apparel, cars, electronics,

Step #3. Add necessary information

Dont forget to write your business name, your business description, contact number and website. You will be asked to select an additional category that suits your business. These sub-categories are dependent on the main category you choose.

Step #4 You have the prerogative to select who can view your Google+ profile.

The default is any Google user, or you can restrict this to 18 and older or 21 and older.

Step #5. Choose a tagline and upload your business photo

You have just 10 words to summarize your business. After you’ve done this, you can add an image.

Step #6. Share it with your circles

Google offers you the ability to tell your personal Google+ circles about your new business page.

Step #7. Promote Your Google+ Brand Page

From here you’re good to go with your brand new Google+ business page.

On your new welcome page, Google generates a link to your Plus page (sadly a string of random characters, rather than a vanity URL). You can also get a Google+ button for your site.
